About
Who builds PDF Sign Pad, and why everything runs in your browser.
pdfsignpad.com is a free tool for signing and filling PDFs, entirely in your web browser. Draw, type, upload, or reuse a saved signature, add any text you need — dates, initials, form answers — place it exactly where it belongs, and download a finished, signed PDF. Nothing you sign is ever uploaded, because every step happens on your own device. No account, no watermark, no artificial limits.
1. Who we are
pdfsignpad.com is built and operated by ZIX DEV Inc, a small, independent software company incorporated in Delaware, United States (1111B S Governors Ave STE 40023, Dover, DE 19904). There's no large organization behind the site — ZIX DEV builds focused web software, and this signing tool is one of those products. We keep it deliberately simple: one tool that signs and fills PDFs well, without asking for an email address first.
2. Why everything runs in your browser
The document you're about to sign is often the one you're most careful with — a lease, an NDA, a tax form, a medical or consent form, an ID. Most free online signing tools ask you to upload that file to a server before they'll put a mark on it. PDF Sign Pad doesn't: your document and signature never leave your device, from the moment you open the file to the moment you download the signed result.
The honest tradeoff: because everything happens on your own hardware, how fast a very large file signs — and how large a file you can open at all — depends on your device, not on a paid tier or a daily quota. We think that's a fair exchange for never uploading anything.
3. About the e-signatures we create
PDF Sign Pad creates a simple electronic signature — a drawn, typed, or uploaded mark you place onto the page yourself. It's not a certified, qualified, or notarized signature, and we don't verify your identity or keep an audit trail; it's built for everyday self-sign documents, not as a replacement for a heavier-weight signing platform. See our for the full picture of what a simple electronic signature is and isn't.
4. The tool
Four ways to add a signature — draw it with your mouse or finger, type it in a signature font, upload an image, or reuse one you've saved in this browser — plus text you can place anywhere on the page for dates, initials, or form answers. The whole site works in seven languages — English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, and Arabic — with full right-to-left layout for Arabic, not just translated menus.
5. How we write our guides
Our FAQ answers and guides are written in-house, and every claim about how PDF Sign Pad behaves is checked against the real, shipped product before we publish. We do look at how other signing tools work and describe themselves, so we can explain things clearly and position PDF Sign Pad honestly — but nothing here is copied from another product. Original writing, checked against what's actually built: that's the standard, every time.
